Positive: If you are considering a stay at The Pulisan, do it! The photos online don't do justice to how stunning this place is. The bungalows are gorgeous and immaculately clean. They are situated on a stunning, tranquil private beach overlooked by rainforest (we saw rare crested macaques in our garden one morning!). The sea is warm and crystal clear, and there is a healthy and thriving house reef full of colourful tropical fish – I snorkelled every day. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive, they really looked after us. There are 3 meals a day in the restaurant (all local food), plus a home-cooked snack brought to your room each morning and afternoon, which we particularly appreciated. The resort has a shuttle if you fancy exploring the local area – we asked to be taken to Paal beach which was gorgeous. This is a great place to visit in the wet season. Prices are low and the resort is quiet. There were occasional bursts of heavy rain but this was not in any way prohibitive to our enjoying the holiday. The weather forecasts make it look like there is non-stop rain but it is actually dry the vast majority of the time, with plenty of sun.
